Livingston Place was named after “Calgary’s First Citizen”, Sam Livingston (1831-1897). One of the first settlers in the Calgary region, Livingston helped to define our great city. He was an innovative and important figure that brought mechanised farm equipment and cultivation to area farmers.

Livingston Place has been awarded the Green Building Excellence Award for Existing Buildings by the Canadian Green Building Council (CaGBC) of Alberta 2018.
The Green Building Excellence Award for Existing Buildings is presented to a team responsible for an existing commercial project which demonstrates optimal building performance and occupant satisfaction. The commercial project should demonstrate a commitment to sustainability with good practices in several key aspects including energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and waste management.
Livingston Place won the 2018 Outstanding Building of the Year Award in the category of Office Building 500,000 – 1 Million SQ FT at the annual BOMA Canada (Building Owners and Managers Association) Awards held in Calgary on October 3rd, 2018.
The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY®) Awards is the most prestigious and comprehensive program of its kind in the commercial real estate industry recognizing quality in commercial real estate buildings and rewarding excellence in building management. During the competition, all facets of a building's operations are thoroughly evaluated. Entries are judged on everything from community involvement to environmental and sustainability management.
TOBY® winners are recognized in specific categories of building size or type. Judging is based on building standards, community impact, tenant relations, energy conservation, environmental, regulatory and sustainability, emergency preparedness & security standards and the training of building personnel.
In October 2017 and 2012 Livingston Place received Gold Certification for LEED® Canada EB:O&M (Existing Building: Operations & Maintenance)! Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) is a third-party certification program and an internationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED® Canada EB:O&M is a building rating system administered by the Canada Green Building Council, a national non-profit organization. The process helps building owners and operators to measure operations, improvements and maintenance on a consistent scale, with the goal of maximizing operational efficiency while minimizing environmental, resource and health impacts. Our Gold certification distinguishes Livingston Place as a leader in the real estate industry, reaching the second highest certification in this category.
In February 2019 and October 2015, Livingston Place received BOMA BEST Gold certification, the second highest level in the program. The BOMA BEST program is a national environmental recognition and certification program for commercial buildings in Canada. It was designed, developed and is administered by BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association) Canada and BOMA Calgary. BOMA BEST Gold certification is for buildings that score 80 per cent or higher on the BOMA BEST assessment of best practices and sustainable programs and systems.
In May 2018 and 2010 Livingston Place received BOMA’s The Outstanding Building of the Year Award in the 500,000 to 1,000,000 sf category. This certification recognized Livingston Place as the leader in its size based on the following seven criteria: Design; Community Impact; Tenant Relations; Energy Management & Conservation; Emergency Preparedness, Security Standards; Training of Building Personnel.
In 2009, Livingston Place received BOMA’s Pinnacle Award – Customer Service, both at the local and national level. This certification recognized Livingston Place as the best in the industry for our customer service platform.
